Vernon Percy
Vernon Percy has been an educator in higher education for more than 25 years and currently serves as faculty in Bay Path University’s Psychology Department. A significant part of his work has centered on youth development, mentoring, and helping young people recognize their strengths, build confidence and leadership, and expand their sense of what is possible. At Bay Path, he teaches a range of psychology courses while also teaching courses focused specifically on youth development, including Effective Youth Mentoring and Sport-Based Youth Development. He also mentors undergraduate students preparing to work with youth and families in a variety of settings.
His experience spans community-based youth development, clinical work with youth and families, sport psychology consulting, coaching, and higher education. Throughout his career, Vernon has worked with youth, families, athletes, coaches, and community organizations, with an emphasis on creating supportive relationships and opportunities that foster self-leadership and community connection.
Growing up in Pittsfield in the scenic Berkshires, Vernon developed an appreciation for the role nature can play in personal and spiritual growth. This connection drew him to Eagle Eye Institute’s commitment to providing outdoor learning experiences that promote well-being, belonging, and empowerment for young people from underserved communities. As a board member, Vernon hopes to contribute his experience to help advance Eagle Eye’s mission of expanding opportunities for young people to grow, connect, and thrive.
