Mark

Mark Niedergang

Mark Niedergang has lived in Somerville, MA, for 30 years. For the last 20 years, Mark has been a consultant to non-profit organizations, helping them achieve their goals. Mark served as a member of the Eagle Eye Institute Board of Directors for five years and continues to support Eagle Eye’s valuable work.

Mark has been the Alderman for Ward 5 in Somerville since January 2014. He served for eight years and was elected four times to represent Ward 5 on the Somerville School Committee. In the 1990's, Mark worked for three years as the Grant Manager in the Somerville Police Department and as a Planner in the Mayor’s Office of Human Services under Mayor Michael Capuano.

Mark has a B.A. from Tufts University and a Master's in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC.
