Argenis Herrera
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, Argenis Herrera has always been fascinated by how people come together. A junior at Williams College studying Political Economy, he hopes to apply his education towards generating greater understanding among different communities and uniting them around shared causes. Argenis joined the Eagle Eye team in the summer of 2020, spending three weeks fully immersed in the beauty of the Berkshires. Since then, he has thought actively about ways to expand access to the outdoors for all youth.
Through his lived experience, Argenis has cultivated a strong sense of justice that he hopes to use to identify and promote lasting solutions to the many issues that affect the communities he belongs to - whether immigrant, first-generation, low-income, or LGBTQ+. On campus, Argenis serves as a class representative for the Student Union, the President of College Democrats, and the recently appointed Director of the Wilderness Orientation Program for first-year students.
Outside of social advocacy, he enjoys reading political memoirs, curating fruit-themed Spotify playlists, hiking on the Long Trail, and watching endless hours of TikTok content. Upon graduation, Argenis hopes to attend law school with a focus on either labor or environmental law.
