Nelson has an immense passion for nature and the outdoors, and chose to work with the Eagle Eye Institute because he understands that many urban youth aren’t privileged with opportunities to immerse themselves in the natural environment.
Nelson is currently working as a summer facilitator at the Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC) in Blairstown, New Jersey. PBC is an experiential and adventure based education program that serves inner-city youth from New York City and Newark, NJ communities. Through high and low ropes courses, outdoors activities, and games and initiatives, PBC’s mission is to develop a stronger sense of community, teamwork and personal empowerment in underserved urban youth. Nelson chose to work with PBC largely because of his involvement with the Eagle Eye Institute. He loves being in the outdoors and working with youth, and feels that PBC’s mission and goals strongly align with his passions.
Nelson is currently a second-year at Denison University in Granville, OH majoring in Environmental Studies.
